Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Empire State Psychiatry Medical Director
Chief of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan, working with children, adolescents, and adults throughout New York State. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing – Psychiatric Mental Health from Binghamton University, and I also hold a second Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Informatics, which informs a structured, systems-based approach to psychiatric care. I have extensive experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, bipolar and mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as complex co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions. A core focus of my practice is complex medication management. I frequently work with patients who have had limited response to prior treatments, long medication histories, or overlapping diagnoses. My approach emphasizes diagnostic clarity, careful medication selection, and close monitoring over time, with the goal of developing treatment plans that are effective, sustainable, and clearly understood. I am known for a direct, compassionate, and thorough approach, and I place strong value on patient education and shared decision-making. I believe patients do best when they understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the reasoning behind clinical decisions. While medication management is a central component of my work, I also recognize that mental health is influenced by factors such as sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and daily routines. When clinically appropriate, I incorporate discussion of these elements into treatment planning to support overall stability and long-term outcomes. I have a strong appreciation for the mental health challenges faced by first responders, healthcare professionals, and others in high-stress roles, and I am committed to supporting individuals impacted by trauma, chronic stress, and demanding work environments. I value collaborative care and regularly coordinate with therapists, primary care providers, and other members of the healthcare team to support comprehensive treatment. I look forward to working with patients and families at every stage of life.
