Lindsay Dunlop, MS, AGPCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Adult-Gerontological & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I am a dual board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, integrative care across the adult lifespan in New York State. My background in both medical and psychiatric practice allows me to thoughtfully consider the whole person which involves recognizing the deep connection between physical health, hormonal balance, life transitions, and emotional well-being.

My approach is holistic and root-cause focused. I believe that symptoms are often signals, not simply problems to suppress. Together, we explore the biological, psychological, and environmental factors that may be contributing to distress. This can include medical conditions, hormonal changes, sleep patterns, nutrition, stress load, inflammation, and major life transitions. By understanding the full picture, we can develop a plan that feels intentional, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.

I work with adolescents, adults and older adults, with particular interest in transitional stages of life. Periods such as early adulthood, midlife shifts, perimenopause and menopause, retirement, and aging-related changes can significantly impact both physical and emotional health. I am especially drawn to women’s mental health and the ways hormones and reproductive life stages influence mood, anxiety, cognition, and overall functioning. My medical training allows me to thoughtfully assess these overlapping factors and integrate them into psychiatric care.

I treat a range of conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, OCD, and complex presentations where medical and psychiatric symptoms intersect. I am particularly attentive to individuals who may feel that their concerns have been overlooked or simplified in the past.

While medication can be an important tool, it is only one part of treatment. When indicated, I take a careful and measured approach to prescribing, with close monitoring and clear communication. I also emphasize lifestyle foundations such as restorative sleep, nourishment, movement, nervous system regulation, and daily structure as essential components of long-term wellness.

My style is warm, collaborative, and thoughtful. I value education and shared decision-making, and I want you to feel informed, heard, and empowered throughout your care. I also work collaboratively with therapists and other healthcare providers to ensure a cohesive and supportive treatment experience.

It is a privilege to walk alongside patients during times of growth, transition, and healing, and I look forward to partnering with you in your care.
